I went for my first time to Santana Row to see my friend's play @ this event: . Now, to someone who hasn't been before you think... DJs, sushi... whateva'. Let me tell you! This place was something else!!! I've included the flyer for the curious.
A couple of things struck me about the affair... Firstly... I saw more straight hot guys @ this place in five minutes than for the entire 2008 so far in San Francisco. Secondly, this establishment was a meat market on steroids. Seriously! I had an awesome time and I was really entertained happily by the whole affair... but I'm just sayin'...
I snapped a few photos! I'm trying to learn how to get pics using no flash in dark enviroments... And depending on the delay on your digital camera it ends up coming out blurry... But I'm learning.
Regardless. I think these pics have merit so you decide for yourself:
Let me tell you... there were quite a few ppl stuffed into that loungy bar area thingey... I had an awesome time. Most entertaining!
So we're back to shooting our dissenters, ARE WE? And let's not forget the Russian leadership's pension for poisoning it's double agents in London and such.
I was having dinner with an amigo the other night @ Mexico DF. The food is fabulous but maybe out of the price range of some of my favourite starving artist friends.... They have these paintings on the wall that are light-backed and fabulous...
I tried to take pictures of said painings and I couldn't. Then I started trying to explain to my friend how when I tried to take a picture with my camera phone... I saw this fake funny nose and mustache in the middle? Did a gremlin get into my phone? You decide for yourself.
PS --> Yee who laughed @ me that night.... IN YOUR FACE. Hee hee hee hee hee
so i did my music homework for 5 days straight before placing that monster order to Juno. i think someone over there loves me to pieces today. i just catapulted myself into titanium status or something like that!!!
all rightey kidz. you've been warned.
i'm so excited to play right now i can't stand it!
Well because I'm a supreme airhead and I can prove it... And cuz I mangled the links the first time arround... I'm doing a repost here....
Enter the Borg was recorded in my studio @ Zenomena Recordings in San Francisco. This set is an exploration of a very specific sub-genres of Deep Tech House with an emphasis on the "Tech" in Tech House. I hope you enjoy it!
This set is available in several formats. This set is available as a zip archive to promote downloading all the tracks in one click at both 320kbps and 128kbps fidelity as well as in one track in both 320 kbps and 128kbps fidelity.
so some of you may have heard of ana mandara over in North Beach... A new French, Vietnamese restaurant. Here's some pictures I snapped from my new phone there the other night.
One picture is of the bar and the other is the buddha on the wall. The whole establishment is gorgeous with a wonderful courtyard off of the bar. The menu is both fabulous and pricey. But in my opinion wholly worth it.
So I'm going through my record collection trying to decide what to move where...
I live in an apt with what is actually a decently generously-sized kitchen.... Until my technics, studio computer, mixing board, etc, etc, etc moved in. Did I mention my record collection and camping supplies???
Anywho, I'm going through my collection and trying to figure out what goes where... What gets moved to the other room...
And that's when I noticed something. I have a sh*T load of schtuffs from: a) Poker Flat Recordings, b) Steve Bug, and c) Dan Berkson and James What. It's no wonder I had a fabulous time last weekend. And I bet I have a fabulous time tonight, too!
And right now I'm ordering a whole bunch more from all of those artists off of Juno.
Sweet and lovely Musik! You gotta love it. Dark, sexy, deep tech house delicious.
So Steve Bug of Poker Flat Recordings (yes... THAT Poker Flat) is in town for tonight @ Mighty! For those of you who aren't familiar with the rad freaky deepy Tech House delicioso tracks of Poker Flat... it's time you were.
So I'm finally going through my scuba pictures from the end of April... Last night and this AM and I guess until it's done... So I'm NOT going to give you the rad pictures just yet...
not til I'm done categorizing them but ....
but i can't resist giving you this one little itty, bitty sneak preview... this pic is sehr cool in it's clarity
Well, DUH! Like 5 zillion. Not the least of which is sunset parties. Especially one where Dan Berkson and James What from Poker Flat Recordings are playing at live. Free outdoor parties @ Stafford Lake.
to all you suckas who didn't reply to my invite to go the Sunset Party this past Sunday Afternoon... well all I have to say is you LOSE SUCKAS!
It was the best set I've seen all year... Just about. Maybe completely! Well, this year's not over yet so we'll see.... Up there in the top 2 at LEAST. YOWSA folks. I had no room left on my media card but here's some 33 seconds of Dan in an ethereal lovely key riff... Enjoy.
For those not privy to the 4-1-1... These gentlemen are in da' hiz-zouse on one of my favourite freaky-deakey deep tech house labels... Poker Flat Recordings.
I just dug in my bag and I have four pieces of vinyl in my bag from Poker Flat... My bag is my active play list. I said 4!

Right now I'm in the midst of tracking the newly-recorded CD: Enter the Borg... spawned from the off-handed remark by one of my DJ partners... Trev who said...
"You know I really like it when you just really grind the Tech House".
That got me wondering in my mind... "Hey... What *would* happen if I just grinded the sh*T out of the Tech House??? If I just took all my most out-there/interesting/raddest tracks and made them together into a 20-layer sandwich??? HMMMM????!!!"
So now we have a new CD. Enter the Borg! I'm so excited about this one... more than any other... I love it!
One of the first things I heard on the news this AM (i listen to it daily first thing as I'm waking up every morning) is that Bernie Mac died. He's only 50!!!! Apparently it was from complications caused by pneumonia.
I don't even have a TV but I have seen the Bernie Mac show and I loved it... He was wicked talented... I remember him from Ocean's Eleven... I haven't seen Ocean's Twelve yet... I'm way behind on movies...
I was talking to an Italian (from Italy... NOT an Italian-American) last night... He has several tattoos, a mohawk... and is roughly my height... more or less. He let me in on how difficult it is to shop here in the US...
A paraphrase from my friend G... You know... It's impossible to find a good pair of jeans here in the US! They are all baggy... What are you supposed to do when you have a good azz and you need to show it off???
