So there's also a star-spangled banner exhibit in the Museum of American History. The original flag from the Battle of Baltimore in the war of 1812 is on display in this exhibit... The one that inspired Francis Scott Key to write the Star-Spangled Banner, is present and accounted for... minus one of it's 15 stars and about 12 feet of stripes that were given away as keepsakes.
