Feather River Campout this weekend & a new mix

I'm super stoked to be playing Friends N Family's Feather River Campout again this weekend. I play at 4:45 AM which is the perfect time for me... So if you're going... Save your last dance for me, yo!

In honor of this weekend & also the fact that it's campout/festival season & also because I had to do this special project... I recorded this set. Because frankly, the best campouts & festivals definitely feel like a trip to outer space. Or one could *trip* to outer space. That's all on you. But.

Well we could also call this set Weird Like Me but I'm reserving that title for one of the new tracks I'm coming out with this year. So. Drum roll please.... BOOM

In Honor of Spring I Give You this New Set

I've been busy in the studio learning how to use my new drum synth to make beats & having a blast! I caught spring fever so I thought I would take some time out of making beats to record this set. It's a lot lighter than I normally go but I thought it fits the season. Enjoy

All Hail Maschine!!

due to unforseen circumstances including an operating system upgrade & travel & such. i am just *now* getting around to using Maschine. Wow!!!! Did I say wow? Wow.

my frustration with production before was I couldn't get the exact drum sounds & things out of ableton. You can get some really weird, cool, & amazing things from Reaktor but a girl needs a fundamental kit of just rad instruments. All the extra packs just weren't doing it.

it's going to take me a bit to go through all these kits & instruments & sounds & figure out what extra stuff I need to take these tracks from my iPhone voice memo to finish but I am looking forward to every single minute.

i am such an idiot. i should have gotten this so long ago. i would have had a ton of tracks out already.

anywho. w00 h00!

w00 h00!

For a lot of reasons recently the computer biz had to take front & center stage. Sometimes a girl has to buckle down & discipline for her own long term good. That has been this past fall. It has been one of the hardest of my life but has also reaped some serious rewards. So as a result, I haven't focussed on music production as much as I would like.

But. The reason the subject line of this post is titled w00 h00! is a very good one. for years i have been working towards something which is to be achieved!

but even more than that, i can't believe i am on my way to over two weeks to celebrate my birthday in the city that stole my heart back in 2009, Berlin.

and here i am. happy. with my new berlin hair do.

28 Sep 2013 @ Project One in San Francisco

Yes I'm back in SF! Sorry I have been neglecting this blog & missed posting a few gigs.

You can always like me on face borg or follow me on twitter or ask to be added to my text blast list or add yourself to my e-mail list. I recommend the text blast method as that gets you last-minute guest list privileges.

A Day In Amsterdam

I had a great adventure today. These were the only pair of sandals that I have that I can walk far fast in & they broke. I was trying to avoid buying shoes but apparently providence had another idea.

I got to talk to one of my favorite shop owners. His shop specializes in making you spend money on things you don't need. I almost walked out of there with a Dalmatian or lady bug back pack for my DJ gear but then realized I don't have the nerve to use it. Aren't these hilarious?

If you are ever in Amsterdam you have to check out this store.

Tonight Live on Funky Teknomics Radio on UStream, 6:30 - 8 PM Pacific Time

Tonight it's On. We'll be streaming live out of Temple in San Francisco. You can catch me here: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/funkyteknomics

Zenith Live at Friend's n Family Feather River Campout

Friends N Family FRC 2013

I had an amazing time slot (3:20 - 4:40 am Sunday) at an amazing campout this past weekend. Most of you probably know this but California is an outdoor lover's paradise. This campout was at a magical space. I apologize that I don't have the time at the moment to get the pics out of face borg over to here.

As soon as I get the wave version of my set I will post it though.

Terri Gross interviewing Ray Manzarek about Light My Fire

It's sad that Ray Manzarek just recently died of cancer. This morning I heard a great interview on NPR that I wanted to share with you.

It's not the whole interview but i bet you could find that, too. it's totally worthwhile:
